Legends Sweep Doubleheader Against Heat

nearhoof hitThe Long Beach Legends (28-19, 9-5) held on for a 1-0 victory against the High Desert Heat (10-16, 3-14) Saturday afternoon in game one of a doubleheader at Joe Hicks Memorial Field.

Team San Diego Offense Too Much for Heat

sd players on benchNick Deregis led the way with four RBI and Dalton Weeks went 4-for-5 with two runs scored for Team San Diego (12-10, 4-5) en route to an 8-2 victory over the High Desert Heat (4-6, 2-6) Tuesday afternoon at UC Riverside.

Rebels Win First Game Against Heat

The Riverside Rebels (1-6, 1-4) defeated the High Desert Heat (3-3, 1-3) 7-1 Saturday afternoon at Victor Valley College led by three-hit days from Joey Szczepanski and Zach Hubert.

Rebels’ starter Adam Quintana, a 2012 all-SCCBL selection, returned to form in seven dazzling innings of work, striking out seven and only allowing one run.

The Rebels jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Seth Walston’s two-run double scored Hubert and Joe Battaglia. Walston was brought in by an RBI knock by Chris Gonzales.

The Heat answered with one run in the bottom of the first as Chris Solis belted in Connor Garrison, but that would be the only run they would score all game. Continue reading
