Team San Diego Offense Too Much for Heat

sd players on benchNick Deregis led the way with four RBI and Dalton Weeks went 4-for-5 with two runs scored for Team San Diego (12-10, 4-5) en route to an 8-2 victory over the High Desert Heat (4-6, 2-6) Tuesday afternoon at UC Riverside.

San Diego jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the sixth inning before the Heat finally answered when Aaron Cisneros knocked in Connor Garrison. Alex Pollard followed in suit, belting in Chris Solis.

San Diego scored first when Alex Wick doubled and scored on a Mark Riendeau RBI groundout in the top of the first.

The momentum continued in the second inning as Austin Singer ripped an RBI scoring Matt Arlington.

San Diego doubled its 2-0 lead in the third when Max Martin and Riendeau scored.

The red-hot Nick Deregis ripped a two-run base hit in the fifth to extend the lead to 6-0.

Connor Moore provided an insurance run with an RBI double in the sixth.

San Diego tacked on one more run in the ninth when Deregis brought home Weeks for the second time in the game.

The Heat will travel to Palm Springs Friday night for their next game, while Team San Diego continues its road trip north to Bakersfield to challenge the Braves on Wednesday and Thursday.
