Legends Fall into Eye of the Storm

hugo sb1 The Long Beach Legends (8-6, 2-0) fell to the West Coast Storm 6-2 Saturday afternoon at Long Beach City College.

Legends’ starter Jeff Curran dominated the Storm in six brilliant innings of work, striking out eight and only allowing one unearned run on two hits.

The Storm scored the first run in the sixth inning before adding three more in the seventh to grab a 4-0 lead.

Long Beach tried to mount a comeback in the bottom of the seventh as Coach Jonathan Rodriguez inserted three pinch hitters who produced two runs. The deficit was cut in half on Aaron Gray’s two-run single scoring Hugo Rodriguez and Danny Haley, but the Storm answered with two more runs in the top of the eighth to put it out of reach.

The Legends next game is against the Socal Sklz Sunday at 12 pm.
