The Los Angeles Thrashers (0-1) lost to the Orange County Black Sox 7-1 Friday afternoon at Pierce College in the season opener.

“We have to make adjustments,” said Reynolds. “Every ball we hit well found a glove, and it seemed like it just wasn’t meant to be, but we’ll get better.”

“I’m big on chemistry. I’m big on guys having each other’s back and understanding it’s a team game,” said Reynolds.

Starting pitcher Blake Sack, fanned six batters in four innings of work. Although he sat down 10 consecutive batters from the first to fourth inning, costly errors and timely hitting plated six runs for the Black Sox.

Matt Redfearn played a gold-glove caliber shortstop all game. The junior single handedly retired the side in the third inning making progressively harder plays each time.

The Thrashers bats finally came alive in the ninth inning when the team put together three consecutive hits. Nick Medrano started off the rally with a base hit, Vince Lawrence belted another one. The rally culminated with a Joshua Alonzo RBI single, scoring Medrano.

Rowley and Spencer Reed ripped the other two Thrashers hits.

Mack, Daniel Skahill and Lane Wheeler combined for five innings in relief, only giving up one run.

The Thrashers next home game is set for 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 15 at Pierce College.

Next Friday’s game will be broadcasted on the internet.
