Oaks Christian at Calabasas

OAKS CHRISTIAN at CALABASAS – After looking dead in the waters for the better part of three quarters, the Lions (1-1, 1-0) got a much needed breath of fresh air from backup senior quarterback Richie Harrington. The senior transfer gave the offense the spark Head Coach Bill Redell was looking for. He completed 10-for-21 of his passes, but more importantly than that, accounted for five touchdowns. The key for the Lions is to not have a classic letdown this week against one of the weaker teams in the Marmonte League, but it appears the Lions have finally had a wakeup call after playing sluggishly in their first seven quarters. Trevor Gretzky remains the QB for now, but will there be a controversy brewing out in Westlake Village should Gretzky get out to a slow start against the Coyotes? The Lions will be led by Duke-bound Blair Holliday, who climbed the ladder to come up with the game winning overtime score against the Seraphs. On the other side of the ball, the Coyotes (1-1, 0-1) come off a tough 24-6 loss to Royal. Coach Larry Edwards will need to lean on his two running backs, Tyson Jones and Tai Kusakawa, to control the time of possession and keep the Coyotes in the game.

Prediction: Oaks Christian 38 Calabasas 14
